#GlutenFree Red Apple Lipstick – Review

I am not much for wearing a lot of makeup, but I do like to have a nice lipstick that I can depend on that is not too expensive, and is also gluten free and paraben free – enter Red Apple lipstick.

I happened to be reading an article one day and noticed a link for gluten free lipstick – which led me to Red Apple lipstick. I checked out the website thoroughly, they had an incredible array of colours to choose from and they were all both gluten free and paraben free.

I emailed the founder and he was gracious enough to let me pick a few colours that he would send me as samples.  I was heading to NYC in a few days and asked if it could be shipped to the Collective Bias office there as I would be heading there as soon as I got into the city.

I was excited; Red Apple lipstick is completely non-toxic and the colours could be used alone, built up or layered with other colours to create different shades and intensity.

It was really hard to choose – there were so many different shades – so nice to have such a wide range to choose from – something I was not used to, thus making my decision a bit harder!

The colours I finally decided to go with were: Berry Blast, Mauve me and Reddy or not.

I like using the berry blast on a daily basis because it looks so light and natural; the mauve me is a little brighter and shimmery, so for days that I want a bit more pizzazz I use the mauve me.   I love the Red  but don’t tend to wear it during the day as much – It is a bit bolder and I like to leave it for when I am getting a bit more dressed up. What I like about all of the colours is the way they flow when I am putting it on, they feel wonderfully moisturizing , not thick and cakey.  The best part…I have yet to get smudges on my teeth – have always hated that! The  lipstick also has great staying power,  haven’t had to apply nearly as often as I usually do! 🙂

I have always had fairly dry lips – I make sure that any product I use generally has some moisturizer and I generally apply Vitamin e on my lips at night because they have been so dry.  With the Red Apple, my lips are very smooth and not dry at all – haven’t used the vit E at night for ages! There was also a sample of Rally balm included with the lipsticks- it is great to put on under the  lipsticks for more moisturizing power,  or just wearing alone.

The cases they come in are simple and elegant, in black.

I will definitely be looking at some colours for my daughter now that she is starting to use lip colours a bit more, and they also carry a wide range of Gluten free eye shadow she might like as well!

If you haven’t had a chance to stop by their website you should, they also have a blog that is always full of great info!

They will be launching a new product shortly but always have some great incentives going on,  especially if you are a member of their VIP club [which is free!].

The only drawback is that they are only available online – shipping is free to the continental US but otherwise shipping plus duty is applicable but let me tell you, it is totally worth it! 🙂

*Disclosure- I was offered free product for my review, but the opinions are totally my own!
