Food and travel go hand in hand for me… I love both! When I travel I love discovering new foods and trying things that I normally wouldn’t try if I were home. Traveling to a city or country whose food is naturally gluten free makes things much easier for me so I can try more of the local cuisine. Puerto Vallarta is one of those places… it is a food lover’s paradise! I love Puerto Vallarta, everything about it is magical… the food, the people, the beaches, the Malecon – I could go on for ever!

On my last travels to Puerto Vallarta, I tried Octopus… something I never thought I would try but it was incredibly delicious and nothing like I imagined it would be! Be warned: the colours and flavours of Puerto Vallarta’s cuisine create an indelible impression on the senses leaving lasting memories; it is hard not to try something new when travelling there!
Puerto Vallarta has many events that celebrate their cuisine -the 20th edition of the International Gourmet Festival runs from November 16-22, and will feature the talent of over 30 world renowned Chefs representing National and European restaurants from all over the world to create delicacies for every palate.
With chef tastings, culinary safaris, sensorial tastings and themed nights offering distinct dishes from cities from around the world, who wouldn’t want to experience this? I would love to attend any of their amazing events during the festival and meet master chefs and taste their delicious offerings! Love seafood? Can you imagine spending an afternoon tasting a delicious potpourri of seafood? Or a wonderful Tequila tasting with artisanal cheeses? I would be in heaven! 🙂
Puerto Vallarta also holds Restaurant week for two weeks in May, the best restaurants in the area offer incredible three course meals at reduced prices – a perfect time to go and sample the cuisine of Puerto Vallarta, and visit some amazing restaurants!

Puerto Vallarta is definitely a foodie’s dream destination. I was as equally impressed by the street vendors’ offerings & food in the tiny cafes as I was in the 5-star restaurants. Definitely different, but both excellent!

Frustrating that so many of these great contests are only open the US and Canadian residents! I’d LOVE to go to Puerto Vallarta!
