Schneiders Gluten Free Bologna

One of my favourite childhood memories during school was having bologna for lunch – it was always one of my go to favorites.  I can still remember enjoying the tang of mustard that I would apply to it, and that complemented the bologna so perfectly. In those days I would have an actual bologna sandwich.  Since going gluten free, bread isn’t always a necessity for me.  😉 But I still like a little mustard spread on it [whether I have it with Gluten free bread or not!]!

  4. I remember when I was in elementary school, I was able to come home for lunch. My mom would always make me vegetable soup and a sandwich. King of the Road was playing on the radio (I know I’m aging myself) lol This is the best lunch time memory I have.

  5. When we were in elementary school, we used to get milk containers for lunch. These were delivered to our classroom mid-morning so they were usually warm by lunch. Yuck!

  9. Oh, I adored Fruit Roll-Ups (which I don’t let my kids have – hilariously enough). I’d wrap them around my finger and suck on them until they disappeared. It took a LONG time.

    1. Haha, yes…I think we can all relate to that! [Having something we don’t let our kids have!] 🙂

  10. I remember Hot Dog Day once a month, we could order a hotdog, wagon wheel and juice or milk and watch a movie at lunch!

  11. I remember it being a long time between getting off the bus at school and when we could finally eat our lunch.

  13. I remember getting orange juice in a thermos when I was in grade one. The orange juice had so much pulp in it I was gagging on it. To this day I do not like juice with pulp in it!

    1. Yes, that would turn me off juice as well!

  16. We usually had a sandwich and a juice box for lunch. Once in awhile there be also treats like cookies.

  20. My Mom worked from home, so I always got to come home for lunch and have a warm meal and watch a little TV 🙂

  24. I remember my Dad always packed me a little Debbie in my lunch. He wasn’t very emotionally demonstrative, so that oatmeal cream pie or star crunch meant a lot to me.

  27. I remember being in charge of the cd player at school during lunchtime in elementary school. I had lobbied to get a girl, because all the other people had been boys, except I didn’t think that I would be the one to be in charge! I didn’t even know how to use it!

  28. My memory is that every day i got ham and cheese. not that there is anything wrong with ham and cheese.. i just wanted peanut butter like everyone else! as well, i never ever had any “treats” in my lunch and was so jealous of the other kids who got cookies, wagon wheels and candy.

  29. I got lots of peanut butter and jam sandwiches! Those were the days when peanut butter was allowed.

    Wait, I still love those, but toasted more so.

  39. my mom used to freeze bologna sandwiches so they’d still be cold at lunch. It usually ended up squished and soggy on one side, dry on the other – but gosh darned it she tried

    P.S. Where did you purchase the Bologna? I’ve been looking everywhere for it (Independent, Food Basics).

    I’ll definitely tell my sister in law about this as her son is allergic to nuts and has celiac disease.

    1. I picked mine up at Loblaws- they do carry it at Walmart as well! 🙂

    2. None of the stores around my area have it either. I’ve tried Loblaws and Walmart. Oh well, one of these days! hehe.

    3. Hi, I have found it at Real Canadian Superstore, but they don’t keep it with all the other meats they keep it with the cheeses and gluten free stuff in a totally different area if that helps.
