Cooling #glutenfree summer drinks

July 24, 2013

The last couple of weeks it has been quite hot very early in the mornings, those were the days that my daughter would get up and really not feel like eating too much.  Totally understandable…but as her mom, I still want to make sure she doesn’t skip one of the most important meals of the day.  She needs some fuel to boost her body after a night’s sleep.  So we made a compromise,  she has an ultra healthy boost via a smoothie…one packed with lots of protein, fiber and antioxidants,  and everyone is happy! This is a variation of protein pops that I make as a cool treat during the summer, but a little thicker. [amd-zlrecipe-recipe:1] Another one of our favorite glutenfree summer drinks around here  is definitely more of a ‘grownups’ drink – Sangria, love it!  My Husband used to be a bartender way  back while going through grad school -this was one of the recipes we used …not sure where it actually comes from but it is good..unfortunately, too good! 1. The breakfast smoothie has become a favorite and is nutritious enough to get you through to lunch!

    1. It adds a great protein and calcium boost to the smoothie and I also love almonds! 🙂
